Siete pronti a memorizzarli? Let’s go!
- To take things easy: to relax, fare le cose con calma.
• This weekend I'm gonna take things easy and go to a movie.
- To get away from it all: to escape one's everyday life and problems typically by taking a vacation, staccare e prendersi una vacanza
• I just need to get away from it all – let's go somewhere else this weekend!
- To let your hair down: to enjoy yourself and have some fun, spassarsela/sciogliersi
• Why are you so tense? Just let your hair down and enjoy the event.
(Perchè sei così tesa? Sciogliti un po’ e goditi l’evento)
- To steer clear: to avoid something/someone, evitare qualcosa/qualcuno
• If you're not a fan of the hot weather, steer clear of this part of the country in summer.
- To catch your eye: to get your attention, catturare l’attenzione
• I went shopping to get a new swimsuit but nothing caught my attention.
- Round-the-clock: all day and all night, giorno e notte
• This holiday destination has it all. White sandy beaches and round-the-clock bars and discos where you can dance all night.
Enjoy your free time!
